Can fibres melt?

A.

Fibres can melt if not correctly installed and if the illuminator are not well ventilated. FOC's range of illuminators and installation procedures illiminate the melting of fibres.

How many light points can be lit from the one
illuminator?

A.

Pedding the instensity of light required for the
application, if a small diameter fibre is use eg: 3mm
80 points of light are possible, Where as larger
diameter fibre eg: 10mm up to 14 points can be lit.

What maintanence and running costs are involved?

A.

Only the lamp in the illuminator is to be replaced after its specified lifespan.

Is there any light loss thur the cable?

A.

It varies from 1.2% to 4.2% per meter, However installation, cable sizes and other facts can effect the light loss.
